Job Title: Lecturer in Welding
Location: Middlesbrough College Main Campus, TS2 1AD
Department: Motor Vehicle & Welding
Reporting to: Associate Director Curriculum
Salary: £29,565 - £43,562 per annum (subject to a progression criteria)*
Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus bank holidays
Contractual hours: 37 hours per week
Teaching hours: 864 hours per annum
Basis: Full time, Permanent

In particular, we are seeking someone with strong practical expertise in welding techniques and safety procedures, who can inspire learners through hands-on instruction and real-world applications. You will play a key role in developing learners’ proficiency in areas such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding, metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and equipment maintenance, while also fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and workplace readiness.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Lecturer in Welding, you will:
- Deliver and managing high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment in Welding
- Provide hands-on and theoretical instruction in specific areas.
- Support students' academic and personal growth, helping them achieve their full potential.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that connect classroom learning to real-world applications.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and address the needs of all students.
- Support student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression, providing guidance and tailored support.
What We’re Looking For:
We seek candidates who:
- Are a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards*.
- Are a qualified assessor or willing to work towards.
- Hold a minimum of a Level 3 in Welding.
- Have GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
