Contractual hours: 37 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the College’s Digital Strategy while completing the NSG Apprentice Programme. Supported and mentored by our experienced team, you’ll gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies, tools, and techniques, preparing you for a successful career in IT. The position aligns with the Information Communication Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship, designed to develop the next generation of Digital Services professionals and continue the department’s proud track record of success.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As an Apprentice IT Operations Technician, you will:
- Support the IT Operations team in delivering reliable and efficient IT services across the College.
- Assist with the monitoring and maintenance of IT systems, ensuring service availability and performance for end-users.
- Participate in incident management processes, providing first and second-line support to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Contribute to the documentation and continual improvement of operational procedures, ensuring all changes and incidents are accurately recorded.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure service requests and routine tasks are completed in line with agreed service levels.
- Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of end-user devices, applications, and operational tools.
- Support the implementation of the College’s digital strategy by adopting best practices in IT service management and operational excellence.

We seek candidates who:
- Grade C or above in Maths or English (or equivalent) – Essential
- Relevant IT qualification at Level 2 – Essential
