Contractual hours: 37 hours per week

In this role, you will blend your innovative approach to teaching with your hands-on welding expertise to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. You will be delivering practical instruction that equips learners with the essential skills, knowledge, behaviours, and attitudes needed to thrive in today’s dynamic workforce. You will play a pivotal role in developing learners’ proficiency in MIG, TIG, and arc welding, metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and equipment maintenance, while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and workplace readiness through real-world applications and safety-focused teaching.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a an hourly paid Lecturer in Welding, you will:
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of all students.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students.
- Employ a variety of teaching techniques and resources consistent with best practices, specific content knowledge, the physical limitations of the space provided, and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Plan and deliver a suitable Assessment Programme ensuring marked work meets Middlesbrough College Standards.
- Utilise diagnostic assessment tools to identify learning strengths and needs of students for the purpose of intervention and/or acceleration toward academic achievement.
What We’re Looking For:
We seek candidates who:
- To be a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards.
- To be a qualified assessor or willing to work towards.
- To hold a minimum of a Level 3 in Welding
- GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
