Are you practical, organised, and passionate about sport? Middlesbrough College is looking for a Sports Technician to support both the curriculum Sport department and our commercial events and venue hire operations.

 

In this varied and hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for setting up and clearing away equipment for classes, football parties, and external bookings. You’ll help maintain and clean sports facilities, support lecturers during sessions, and ensure all areas are safe, tidy, and ready for use. Flexibility is key, as the role involves working across a 7-day schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

 

We’re looking for someone who’s a team player with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and experience in a similar role. If you’re proactive, reliable, and ready to support the growth of our sports provision and commercial services, we’d love to hear from you.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a sports technician, you will:

  • Prepare gym and practical areas ahead of classes.

  • Maintain and clean sports equipment and facilities.

  • Support lecturers during practical sessions.

  • Manage stock control and ensure equipment is stored securely.

  • Help ensure all areas meet health and safety standards.

 

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Have experience working in a sporting environment.

  • Are organised, proactive, and able to work independently.

  • Communicate clearly and work well as part of a team.

  • Hold a Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).

  • Have a basic understanding of sports rules and equipment.
