We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Lecturer in Childcare and Education to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the next generation of Childcare and Education professionals while playing a key role in a thriving academic community.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Lecturer in Childcare and Education, you will:
- Deliver and manage high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Provide hands-on and theoretical instruction in specific areas.
- Support students' academic and personal growth, helping them achieve their full potential.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that connect classroom learning to real-world applications.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and address the needs of all students.
- Support student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression, providing guidance and tailored support.
What We’re Looking For:
We seek candidates who:
- Hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Early Years (Essential).
- Are qualified teachers; or are willing to work towards the qualification**
- Have a relevant degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Have GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics, or an equivalent.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and/or experience in teaching Childcare and Early Years.
- Exhibit awareness of current challenges within the Childcare and Early Years sector.
- Possess expertise and/or experience in one or more areas of Childcare and Early Years.

*The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or QTS. To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
