Teaching hours: 864 annualised hours

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Lecturer in Health & Care to join our Health & Care team.  This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the next generation of Health Care professionals while playing a key role in a thriving academic community.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:  

As a Lecturer in Health and Social Care, you will:

  • Deliver and oversee high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment within the Health & Care sector.
  • Plan programmes of study that cater to the unique needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
  • Foster students' academic and personal development, enabling them to reach their full potential.
  • Design and implement lesson plans that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the learning experience and meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Contribute to student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression through personalised guidance and support.

 

What We’re Looking For:  

We seek candidates who:

  • Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Health & Care, or a relevant degree.

  • Hold GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4/C.

  • Are qualified teacher or are willing to work towards gaining the qualification**

  • Possess up-to-date knowledge and/or experience of teaching Health and Social Care.

  • Exhibit effective classroom management, excellent time management, and strong communication skills.

  • Are proficient in developing teaching materials using Information Learning Technology.

*The Lecturer Salary Scale is from Pt 5 – Pt 16. The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS.  To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
