Salary: £10,185.31 per annum (actual salary)
Annual Leave: 30 days per annum plus bank holidays (pro rata)
Contractual hours: 16 hours per week
Basis: Permanent

At Middlesbrough College, we take pride in providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join our dedicated Facilities team.
As a Cleaning Operative, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness across multiple buildings on our vibrant campus. Your attention to detail and commitment to hygiene will help ensure that everyone who steps through our doors experiences a spotless and professional environment. This role works on a shift basis, Mondays – Thursdays, 06:00-09:00 and Fridays 06:00-10:00.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Cleaning Operative, you will:
- Clean areas and surfaces to specifications in a timely manner.
- Service toilet areas including replenishing supplies.
- Clear and remove rubbish and ensure the security of all areas at the completion of duties.
- Maintain stocks of cleaning materials, order from suppliers where required and to control the usage of materials ensuring the cleaning cupboard is kept tidy at all times.
- Report any problems on site to the supervisor so they may be rectified immediately.
- Take reasonable care not to put other people - fellow employees and members of the public - at risk by what you do or don't do in the course of your work.

- To hold a Risk Assessment Qualification – Desirable.
- To hold a COSHH Qualification – Desirable.
