Join Our Team
We are seeking a passionate and committed Vocational Learning Coach in Maths to join our Academic Support team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing Specialist Additional Learning Support within the Maths curriculum. You will work closely with teaching staff to support lesson planning and delivery, while offering tailored assistance to individual learners or small groups. A key focus of the role will be providing extra support for large GCSE Maths groups across the faculties, helping to ensure all learners receive the guidance they need to succeed. Your contribution will help students build confidence, overcome learning barriers, and achieve success in their Maths studies, whether at GCSE, Functional Skills, or other levels.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Vocational Coach - Maths (Hourly Paid), you will:
- Provide specialist additional learning support in Maths.
- Work closely with teaching staff to plan and adapt lessons and resources to meet individual learner needs.
- Prioritise support for High Needs and SEND students, helping them to engage and progress.
- Encourage students to develop independent learning and study skills in Maths.
- Support learners during lessons and exams, including note-taking, reading, writing, and prompting where appropriate.
- Collaborate with the ALS team and attend relevant meetings to ensure effective support strategies are in place.
What We’re Looking For:
We seek candidates who:
- Holds GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Has experience working with students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
- Can demonstrate vocational experience in Maths or a related subject.
- Communicates effectively and works well both independently and as part of a team.
- Has a good understanding of health and safety and risk assessment in an educational setting.
