In this unique role, you’ll not only oversee a bustling commercial kitchen and front-of-house environment, but also play a key part in mentoring and training our Catering students. You’ll provide hands-on guidance, helping learners develop the essential skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours they need to succeed in the Catering and Hospitality industry. What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Head Chef, you will:
- Co-ordinate rotas and duties for students when working in the production kitchen and restaurant to ensure restaurant opening hours and special events are appropriately covered and maximised.
- Ensure that food preparation is economical, technically correct, within budget and presented to the highest possible standard to customers.
- Seek to develop catering opportunities external to the college to develop further reputation and grow student numbers.
- Contribute towards the planning of ‘Industry Week’ activities to ensure CH students are stretched and challenged.
- Network effectively to provide guest speakers throughout the academic year to inspire students on their study programme.
What We’re Looking For:
We seek candidates who:
- Level 3 Catering Qualification.
- GCSEs at Level 4/Grade C or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
- To be a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards. - Desirable
- Managing food safety.
- A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
