An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Lecturer in Plumbing to join our Construction team. This is a fantastic chance to help shape the next generation of skilled plumbing professionals while playing a key role in a thriving academic community.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Lecturer in Plumbing, you will:
- Deliver and manage high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment in Plumbing within the Construction sector.
- Provide hands-on and theoretical instruction in key areas such as pipework systems, hot and cold water installations, sanitation, and heating systems.
- Support students' academic and personal growth, helping them achieve their full potential.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that connect classroom learning to real-world plumbing applications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and address the needs of all students.
- Support student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression, providing guidance and tailored support.
What We’re Looking For
We seek candidates who:
- Hold a minimum Level 3 Plumbing qualification (or equivalent) and GCSEs in English and Maths.
- Hold Teaching Qualifications
- Have current knowledge and experience in plumbing installation and maintenance, ideally gained through industry practice.
- Demonstrate effective classroom management, excellent time management, and strong communication skills.
- Are proficient in preparing teaching materials using Information Learning Technology (ILT).

The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS. To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS). *
