An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Lecturer in Process Engineering to join our Engineering team.  This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the next generation of Mechanical Engineering professionals while playing a key role in a thriving academic community.

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

As a Lecturer in Process Engineering, you will:

  • Deliver and oversee high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment within the Engineering sector.
  • Plan programmes of study that cater to the unique needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
  • Foster students' academic and personal development, enabling them to reach their full potential.
  • Design and implement lesson plans that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the learning experience and meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Contribute to student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression through personalised guidance and support.

 

What We’re Looking For: 

We seek candidates who:

  • Must be a qualified teacher or be willing to work towards**
  • Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Process Engineering.
  • GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Industrial experience of working in the Process Industry - Essential
  • Current knowledge and/or experience of teaching Process Engineering - Desirable.
  • Awareness of potential issues within the sector that could affect curriculum delivery

*The Lecturer Salary Scale is from Pt 5 – Pt 16. The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS.  To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
