We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a skilled and dedicated Network Communications & Telephony Engineer to join our Digital Services department. This is a fantastic chance to play a crucial role within our established network communications and telephony systems team, supporting all aspects of the College’s IT network and infrastructure. As a valued member of our thriving academic community, you will contribute to maintaining and enhancing our vital IT services, ensuring seamless connectivity and communication across the College.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Network Communications & Telephony Engineer, you will:
- Support the Network Communications & Telephony Team Leader to ensure all new services undergo IT Testing and Integration framework.
- Ensure all configuration changes within the Network & Comms Estate and supporting processes are fully tested and documented.
- Test and Integrate Services to ensure that services meet the requirements of the customer and can be released Live in a controlled manner.
- Provide 3rd Line Incident and Problem Management support to IT Services.
- Ensure all Testing and Operational Support documentation is accepted by Ops prior to Go Live.
What We’re Looking For:
We seek candidates who:
- Hold a Grade 4/C or above in Maths or English (or equivalent) – Essential.
- Possess a relevant IT qualification at Level 2 – Essential.
- Have ITIL v3 Foundation or above – Desirable.
- Can diagnose and rectify basic software faults – Essential.
- Can work flexible hours and locations as required – Essential.
- Have at least one year’s experience working in an equivalent IT role – Desirable.
- Demonstrate a track record of exceeding customer expectations with a commitment to excellence – Desirable.
- Have experience working within an IT department, providing services to a variety of customer areas – Desirable.
- Are proficient in using Service Desk software systems and working within Service Level Agreements (SLAs) – Desirable.
- Have familiarity with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework – Desirable.
- Have experience supporting and maintaining an Office 365 tenant at an administrative level – Desirable.
- Can administer an ITSM ticketing system, ensuring incidents and requests are managed efficiently, in line with SLAs, and to a high standard – Desirable.
- Hold a full, current driving licence – Desirable.
