We are excited to announce an opportunity for a skilled and dedicated Thrive and Personal Development Tutor to join our TTE department. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and support young people, helping them to develop aspirations, cultivate positive behaviours and attitudes, and receive the guidance needed to progress towards employment, Higher Education (HE), or apprenticeships, while being an integral part of our thriving academic community.

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

As a Thrive and Personal Development Tutor, you will:

  • Deliver TTE Thrive Tutorial sessions tailored to the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
  • Create a classroom environment that supports learning and is developmentally suited to the maturity and interests of all students.
  • Utilise a range of evidence-based teaching techniques and resources that accommodate the capabilities and learning styles of individuals and student groups.
  • Work with a caseload of students, offering regular one-to-one meetings, support sessions, and mentoring opportunities to aid their personal development.
  • Provide enrichment opportunities in line with Middlesbrough College Group's standards, supporting students in developing their personal growth beyond the curriculum.

 What We’re Looking For: 

We seek candidates who:

  • Hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Have GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Possess a Careers, Advice & Guidance qualification - Desirable.
  • Hold a Coaching/Mentoring qualification - Desirable.
  • Have a Teaching qualification or be willing to work towards** - Desirable.
  • Have experience liaising effectively with external agencies - Desirable.
  • Have experience providing pastoral support, such as personal tutoring, apprenticeship guidance, or wellbeing support for learners - Desirable.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current evidence-based research and best practices in teaching, learning, and assessment - Desirable.
