Are you a people-person with a passion for helping others reach their potential? We’re looking for a vibrant and enthusiastic Training & Engagement Officer to be the go-to contact for referrals from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and our amazing network of partners!
In this exciting role, you’ll team up with our brilliant Head of Business Development to match learners with the perfect training opportunities—from Adult Skills and Distance Learning to Community Learning projects and more! You’ll play a key part in helping adults upskill, grow, and take steps toward a brighter future.

What You’ll Be Doing:
As training and Engagement Officer you will:
- Actively market and promote Adult & Community Learning through social media platforms and at all external events.
- Support the Head of Business Development in expanding and enhancing the provision for individuals aged 19 and over who are unemployed or not in education, employment, or training (NEET).
- Facilitate Information Advice Guidance awareness sessions at the College/Community Hubs/Job Centre Plus for all referrals
- Consult with the Head of Business Development to track and monitor referrals so that the College can be both proactive and reactive to demand.
- Be proactive in contacting all learners that did not attend and liaising with agencies in providing feedback on attendance.
- Be involved with the learners through Information Advice Guidance, enrolment, and induction.
What We’re Looking For:
We seek candidates who:
- Strong understanding of adult education, and skills funding streams (e.g., Adult Skills Funding, NEET, Distance Learning).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of learners and stakeholders.
- Experience working in a learner-facing role within education, training, employability, or stakeholder engagement- essential
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with external partners such as Job Centre Plus, DWP, and community groups – essential
- Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) qualification (Level 2 or above) – desirable.
- Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
