Are you looking for a part-time role in a friendly and fast-paced environment? Middlesbrough College are seeking two enthusiastic Food Service Assistants to join our Commercial Catering team. In this role, you’ll support the smooth running of food service across campus, helping to maintain clean and welcoming dining areas, restocking counters, and ensuring excellent customer service. You’ll play a key part in creating a positive experience for students and staff alike. We’re looking for individuals who are reliable, approachable, and eager to learn. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary-just a willingness to get involved and work as part of a team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Food Service Assistant, you will:
- Support the delivery of food service by maintaining clean, well-stocked counters and dining areas.
- Ensure all service areas meet hygiene and presentation standards before, during, and after service.
- Follow guidance on portion sizes, stock rotation, and allergen control to maintain food safety.
- Accurately process sales using the college’s cash system.
- Assist in the organisation and delivery of special or themed catering events.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and visitors to ensure smooth service.
- Participate in training and development to support your role and contribute to the success of the team.
- Uphold the College’s values, policies, and commitment to safeguarding and equality.
